At Recycled Cycles & Fitness we see a huge variety of great bikes come through our doors, and every so often one stops us in our tracks. This is one of the coolest bikes we've ever had the pleasure of selling: a custom titanium tandem built by the legendary Black Sheep Bikes, right here in Fort Collins.

It's hard to overstate how much Black Sheep has shaped this town's bike culture. Founder and master builder James Bleakley has a long-standing reputation for building some of the finest frames anywhere, with a signature style that has inspired countless framebuilders along the way. The story

We're selling this tandem on consignment for its original owners, a pair of our customers who had it built in 2003. That year they took it to France to follow the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France. The frame has S&S Couplers, so it breaks down to fit inside the custom travel case that comes with the bike. The owners even wrote a detailed set of step-by-step instructions for taking it apart and packing it. It served them well for many years, and now they're ready to find it a new home.

Sizing

The captain's (front) position is effectively a medium/large, and the stoker's (rear) position is a small. The stoker stem adjusts for length to fine-tune the fit. Because this frame was custom-fit to its original owners, it may need some adjusting for new riders. We're happy to help you dial it in.
