Raleigh Bicycle Company is one of the oldest brands still producing bicycles.  Frank Bowden bought a small bicycle operation in 1887 on Raleigh Street in Nottingham, UK and turned it into one of the most well known worldwide bicycle manufacturers.  Through the years Raleigh has produced all different types of bikes specializing in lightweight bicycles featuring Sturmey Archer rear “transmission” hubs also made in the Raleigh factory then located in Quay, Dublin.  Raleigh to this day is fighting to stay in the front of the pack with their whimsical classic steel line, competitively priced carbon technology, and most of all their cutting edge cyclo-cross line that is leading the industry.
